NEW Give Away Finally
I have been busy this summer as we all have but I think it is time for a give away once again. This give away is to say good bye to summer and welcome cooler temperatures!! Holly from foodforthesoul has generously offered a gorgeous chaplet. Here is what she has to say about it.
I wanted to give this chaplet a strength and beauty as befitting a Warrior of God, such as St. Joan of Arc. The 8mm round & 10mm faceted tiger eye beads seemed, to me, to be ideal for this purpose. There are a total of 19 beads, one for each year of St. Joan's brief life. I wrap-linked each bead with 20g nickel silver wire to give this unbreakable chaplet maximum strength and durability. The center connector, tube bead spacers and 4mm rondelles are lead-free Tibetan silver. The winner will also receive a prayer card, instructions for praying the chaplet and an organza drawstring pouch.

Art is Prayer
We will have a give away as soon as summer winds down and people are back in the loop. For now I have this to post.
I am reading The
Vein of Gold by Julia Cameron, who also wrote The Artists Way, and in it she states that art is prayer and to me
it is. When I am creating I go to another ‘place’. I forget what time it is – I
forget to eat. I am totally absorbed in my creation it is like an intense prayerful
state. When I am finished I breathe deep and I see that my dream vision has
come from my mind through my hands and onto the canvas and I am so happy.
Sometimes I even clap my hands and dance around as I see a prayer come to
life in color or shapes or pictures or beads or whatever I have dreamed.
Prayers can be anything. Looking at a sunset and saying one word like “beauty”
is a prayer. Kissing a newborns cheek is a prayer. Prayers are everywhere.
Please tell me in
your comments how art and creating is like prayer to you. This is my Treasure Map Prayer Collage that I did as a task from the above book.
I am looking forward to hearing from you!!
